Last Show

It was the last show on Sunday afternoon. After the show on Saturday there was a cast and crew party on the third floor of the theater lobby. There was drinks and pizza and everybody was happy to talk about how the show went and what's happening next. I was saying hi to everyone in the cast and taking pictures. I got home at midnight and didn't fall asleep until 12:30.

Sunday's show was a big success and everyone was happy to go home. But there was some sadness about the show ending. I felt like it was really over when I took my last bow. I'm going to miss everyone in the cast. This was one of the best summers I ever had.

  1. Kai,
I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed seeing you perform in Merchant of Venice and reading your blog! You are a very talented young man with a bright future.
I was also very happy to hear that this was your best summer. I hope the rest of it is equally exciting!

  2. What an amazing experience!! Kai, you do a great job of describing and demystifying much of what goes on behind the scenes in such a big production. I was fortunate to participate in many plays before I "grew up," but never such a professional one. Your blog will encourage me to seek out similar experiences for my own kids.

I hope you keep blogging this year. School is not NEARLY as exciting as performance, I know, but there may be some interesting nuggets there. And as you continue to dance/ act/ audition this year, you will find much to describe.

    See you soon!
    Ms. Jes

  3. Kai,

I've enjoyed reading your blog on this rainy weekend. I've learned so much about the stage that I did not know before. You choose interesting moments and told them well. I'm excited to learn more from your experiences.
